Artist Laura Adams has been doing freelance art work for the past several years. She is self-taught and creates characters through her keen observation and incessant doodling. She also has an uncanny ability to draw things she has never seen.  She painted two buildings before she came to Hickory Nut Forest, that closely resemble an existing old cabin and a gristmill that is currently being restored.

Laura and husband Tim have been working in the apple orchard and community gardens at Hickory Nut Forest as interns during the summer and fall of 2009.  They wanted an experience living and working on an organic farm.
